What is markup?

Markup is a percentage (%) used to automatically calculate the sale price by adding a profit margin over the cost price. A 10% markup means the sale price will equal 110% of the cost price. For example, if a product costs $100, a 10% markup results in a $110 sale price.

Let's learn how to set a default markup?

There are two ways to set a default markup: through the product registration form or through the Products screen Settings.

Through the Products screen:

1. On the Products screen, click on the gear icon.

2. Check the option 5. Calculate sales price automatically.

3. In the Default markup % field, enter the desired percentage value.

This percentage will be added to the Cost price to automatically calculate the Sale price.

4. Click on Save - F2.

Through the product registration form

1. Inside the product registration form, check the Automatic option to the right of the Sales price field.

2. Click on Set default markup next to the Markup % field.

3. Check the option Calculate sales price automatically.

4. Enter the Default markup % percentage.

5. Click on Save - F2.

Done! The default markup has been set.
